The working principle of a vacuum butterfly valve is to open and close the valve by rotating the butterfly plate fixed on the rotating shaft by 90 °. Compared with other vacuum valves of the same caliber, vacuum butterfly valves have the advantages of simple structure, large conductivity, short valve body structure length, and fast opening and closing speed. There are three types of vacuum butterfly valves produced in China: manual, pneumatic, and electromagnetic. Manual vacuum butterfly valves are suitable for small diameter (nominal size DN32-300) vacuum extraction systems, connection of extraction pipelines, or cut-off of airflow. Pneumatic and electric vacuum butterfly valves can have a maximum nominal size of DN5000.

1. The working principle and scope of use of vacuum butterfly valves
The working principle of a vacuum butterfly valve is to open and close the valve by rotating the butterfly plate fixed on the rotating shaft by 90 °. Compared with other vacuum valves of the same caliber, vacuum butterfly valves have the advantages of simple structure, large conductivity, short valve body structure length, and fast opening and closing speed. There are three types of vacuum butterfly valves produced in China: manual, pneumatic, and electromagnetic. Manual vacuum butterfly valves are suitable for small diameter (nominal size DN32-300) vacuum extraction systems, connection of extraction pipelines, or cut-off of airflow. Pneumatic and electric vacuum butterfly valves can have a maximum nominal size of DN5000.
The vacuum butterfly valve has a self-locking function in both the open and closed positions. The valve plate can withstand a gas pressure of 0.3MPa and is not afraid of vibration. It can be installed in any position without any movement of the valve stem.
The medium used for vacuum butterfly valves is clean air and non corrosive gases without particle dust. The sealing material is nitrile rubber, which can be used in high vacuum systems with medium temperatures between -25 and 80 ℃. The fluorine rubber sealing ring is used, which can be used in ultra-high vacuum systems with baking temperatures of 150 ℃.


2. The form and performance parameters of vacuum butterfly valves
Manual high vacuum butterfly valves are available in GI and GI-A types. The appearance of the GI type vacuum butterfly valve is shown in Figure 1. Leakage rate less than 1 × 10-6Pa · L/s.

GIQ pneumatic vacuum butterfly valve adopts a 1/4 rotating cylinder, with adjustable angle, and is equipped with open and close position electrical signal devices. It can serve as an automatic control signal source to achieve automatic control of butterfly valve opening and closing. The appearance is shown in Figure 2.
The leakage rate of the GIQ series pneumatic vacuum butterfly valve is less than 1 × 10-5Pa · L/s. The sealing material is nitrile vacuum rubber, with a gas source pressure of 0.4~0.6MPa, suitable for medium temperature of -25~80 ℃, and a pressure of 7 × In a high vacuum pumping system and pumping pipeline with a pressure range of 10-4-105Pa.

The manual and electric GID electric vacuum butterfly valve adopts a 1/4 rotation electric device, which operates smoothly and has low noise (compared to pneumatic valves). It can be installed in any direction. The valve opening and closing positions have electrical signal devices, which are used to display the valve plate opening and closing status and automatic control signal sources. The valve plate sealing material of GID series electric vacuum valves is nitrile vacuum rubber, with a medium and ambient temperature of -25-80 ℃, and a leakage rate of less than 1 × 10-6Pa · L/s, suitable for 10-4Pa high vacuum equipment and extraction pipelines.
